NoDa's cafés are mostly small, independent rooms in older storefronts. Each sets its own policies on laptops, seating time and Wi-Fi, so check the café's site or ask at the counter rather than assuming a work-friendly room.

Bakeries and coffee overlap here, and several restaurants and taprooms on the strip open for daytime service. Brewery kitchens such as Heist Brewery's list daytime menus on their own sites.

A morning visit is a practical way to see the murals along North Davidson and East 36th Street before the evening crowd. The 36th Street station on the LYNX Blue Line is the closest rail stop.

Sidewalk conditions vary by block and some older curb cuts are uneven, so plan your route on a current map if you use a stroller or mobility aid.
