A handful of restaurants have been on the strip long enough to have watched the neighborhood change around them. They are reliable, busy on weekends, and generally the answer when someone visiting asks where to go.

Cabo Fish Taco is the most cited of these — a Baja-style room with one of the district's defining patios and a line most Saturdays.

Weekend evenings on the strip run at capacity, especially on gallery crawl Fridays. Weeknights are comfortable almost everywhere, and early evenings are the district's best-kept practical secret.

Patios drive demand disproportionately. In shoulder seasons the wait for an outdoor table can exceed the wait for a room by an hour.

Visitors tend to arrive for a specific destination restaurant on a weekend evening, which is exactly when the strip is least comfortable — full patios, waits, and a room turning tables as fast as it can. Residents, by contrast, tend to eat here on weeknights, treat the counter-service and casual options as regular rotation rather than occasion dining, and save the anchor restaurants for when they have guests in town.

The practical lesson for a visitor is to borrow the resident's schedule where possible: a Tuesday dinner at a destination restaurant is a completely different, calmer experience than the same restaurant on Saturday at 7pm, with no difference in the food.

Daytime patios along the strip are broadly welcoming to both dogs and children, consistent with the neighborhood's general pattern of treating outdoor seating as flexible, low-stakes space. That welcome typically narrows in the evening as tables turn over faster and the crowd skews toward an adult dinner service.

There is no district-wide rule here, only a pattern that holds often enough to plan around: lunch and early dinner are the easier windows for a family or a dog, and specific patio policies are always worth a quick check before sitting down.
