Accessibility Statement

Our approach

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA in structure, color contrast, keyboard operability and alternative text, and we treat accessibility defects as content defects rather than optional enhancements. A guide to a neighborhood is only useful if everyone who wants to read it can.

How the site is built

Every page uses one descriptive top-level heading followed by a logical order of section headings, so screen-reader users can move through a long guide by heading. Navigation landmarks are labeled, and long guides carry an "On this page" list that jumps straight to each section.

The main navigation, the Peters services menu and the mobile menu all open and close by keyboard; the Escape key closes open menus and returns focus to the control that opened them. Every link and button shows a visible focus outline. Touch targets on mobile are sized for a fingertip rather than a cursor.

Photographs carry text alternatives that describe what is shown. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology. Body text is set at a comfortable size with generous line spacing, and color is never the only way information is conveyed — directory categories, for example, are written out as words beside their colored markers.

Questions and answers use native disclosure controls, so they work with screen readers and keyboards without custom scripting. Animation is limited, and the site respects the reduced-motion setting in your operating system.

Maps and diagrams

The orientation map and the directory map are approximate editorial diagrams, not navigation tools. Everything they show is also available as text: the directory lists every record below its map, and guide pages describe locations in words. Each map links to a current street map for anyone who needs directions.

Known limitations

Some outbound links lead to third-party websites — city, county, transit and business sites — whose accessibility we cannot control. Journal entries are published automatically; if one ever falls short of these standards, report it and we will correct it.

If something on this site is unusable for you, write to npeters@yourleaderinluxury.com and describe the page, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you use. Reported barriers are fixed as a priority.
